Jefferson Cadet Program
Mission: To educate, encourage, build self confidence, and provide a sense of community.
The cadet program is an introduction to orientate new members between the ages of 10-17 into the fire service.
It gives our young members an opportunity to learn a basic knowledge of the Fire and EMS service.
We build a foundation of basic skills of the equipment we use and how and when they are put to use.
Cadets learn the function and the role of the different apparatus and what purpose it provides to the community.
Monthly drills are held to facilitate a designated time specifically for our cadets.
We also encourage them to attend monthly company drills to work with senior personnel.
Cadets are encouraged to participate with fundraising, developing personal skills working with the community.
Fundraising events teach our cadets how money is earned and used to purchase needed equipment.
Safety is always a priority in the program.
To become a Cadet member please click on the Join page and select Cadet in "membership type".
